MIX the flour, sugar, and salt together in a large bowl.
MIX the water, oil, and yeast in a small bowl.
ADD the yeast mixture to the flour mixture.
MIX well.
COVER with a towel and let rise for a minimum of one hour.
PREHEAT oven (425 degrees).
PLACE the Dutch oven (with lid) into the oven.
REMOVE dough from the bowl and place it on a floured surface.
(If you want to make two small loaves, which I like to do for Charcuterie boards or to accommodate a bigger dinner party, then split the dough into two equal pieces. You will need two smaller Dutch ovens to accommodate the two loaves.)
FOLD the dough on top of itself a few times before molding it into a round ball.
PLACE the ball onto a large piece of parchment paper.
OPTIONAL | Sprinkle the sea salt and/or seeds on top of the ball.
REMOVE the Dutch oven from the oven.
PLACE the parchment paper with the ball of dough into the Dutch oven.
COVER with the lid.
PLACE in the oven for 30 minutes.
UNCOVER the bread and let bake for an additional 10 minutes.
REMOVE bread from the oven.
ENJOY!
